2024 Reelworld Film Festival+Summit Temporary Employment Application

The 2024 Reelworld Film Festival+Summit is hiring a variety of short-term positions for its upcoming event, taking place from October 21st to 27th in Toronto. Selected candidates will earn $17.20/hour. Each shift will last approximately 6 hours.

Duties and tasks

We are seeking support at the following venues: the Marriott Courtyard Downtown Toronto, Revival Club, The Royal Cinema, and The Paradise Theatre.

Drivers: Responsible for transporting staff, guests, or equipment between venues or other designated locations. Drivers must ensure timely and safe transportation, be familiar with Toronto’s streets, and be comfortable driving a minivan or similar vehicle in the city. Depending on the needs, this role may involve carrying and loading equipment or boxes.

Hosts for Summit Delegate Check-In: These individuals will primarily be responsible for welcoming and assisting Summit delegates. This involves checking them in, verifying registration, providing badges or materials, and offering general information about the Summit. Their focus is on managing the registration process and ensuring a smooth experience for attendees arriving at the event.

Front of House for The Royal and The Paradise Cinemas: These individuals will be responsible for welcoming guests at the cinema venues, managing ticket scanning, assisting with seating, and ensuring guests follow cinema guidelines. They may also help with directing people to their seats, answering general questions about the screenings, and managing the flow of attendees during film events.

Photographers: Tasked with capturing high-quality images of key moments, events, and VIP attendees throughout the festival. Photographers need experience and skill in event photography, particularly industry events and be able to cover all aspects of the Summit and Festival such as red carpet moments, panel discussions, and audience interactions.

Videographers: Videographers will be responsible for recording footage of various festival and summit events including screenings, panels, interviews, and audience interactions. They should be proficient in handling video equipment, capturing clear and compelling footage, and editing and organizing clips for promotional or archival purposes.

Crews for Set up and Tear Downs: Assist in the physical set-up and breakdown of festival equipment, such as stages, banners, displays, and seating. Be able to handle and carry equipment, work efficiently with others, and follow directions to ensure the venues are ready on time and restored after the events.

Wranglers: Wranglers will help coordinate and manage festival participants, such as VIP guests, speakers, or filmmakers. Their responsibilities include ensuring that participants are in the right place at the right time, assisting with any logistical needs, and communicating with the event team to keep everything running smoothly. This role may also involve escorting guests or participants between locations or helping them with specific event details.
